As you may already know we are expecting our 2nd son on August 18th. I have decided to keep the pre-made section of our store open but I will be closing the custom section so as to not be overloaded during this special and important time in our family. There may come a time in this busy and exciting time that we close the whole store but you can check back here for updates.

Please also note that any items requiring installation or customization may take a few days to complete. If you are in a hurry for your project please let us know at the time of checkout.  If you wish to be added to our waiting list of custom orders when we do reopen (yes there is a list already) please contact us today with your order details.

If you wish to place a regular order (of pre-made items) after July 31 please note that orders may not be processed right away but will be acknowledged within 72 hours. We will continue to offer the best service and customer care that we always have, but my family does come first Emergency issues can of course be sent via email and will be responded to as quickly as possible.

New Designs & Fun Stuff!!

To my NEW blog and NEW eCommerce store!!  I’m so excited to finally have this awesome WordPress blog live as well as my new Zen Cart store up and running smoothly.  After much deliberation and thought I decided to move my hosting from WAHMshoppes to Swank Web Hosting.  WAHMshoppes is still a great place to host a shoppe, and I would (and do) recommend them to anyone who wants an affordable e-store with a simple setup and management system.  In fact it was very hard for me to make the switch!  But my store and websites were outgrowing the hosting there so I felt it was time to move on and man have I ever!  Swank Web Hosting gave me the perfect package for both my websites, three blogs and more!  You can check out the changes and my new family blog below.

I do want to give a quick shout out and THANK you to Jen @ Swank for answering all my dumb and annoying questions while I setup my Zen Cart and to Emily for troubleshooting for me.  If you ever have questions about Zen Carts contact Jen - she rocks and I have no problems referring everyone to her because I personally will never add Zen Cart setup/design to my list of services.  No way, no how, no amount of money!  Emily is the “hosting” guru at Swank and helped me several times when I had no clue what I was doing so of course I recommend her as well!

on blogging that is I’ve been swamped with customers and projects (Hallelujah!). I’m not bragging I’m just letting you all know that I haven’t dropped off the face of the planet yet. After closing down my jewelry boutique I’ve had more time to focus on graphics and web design and things are going really well. I’ve recently added eBay store fronts and blogger templates to my services. I’m excited to offer my customers a completely custom matching set of designs no matter where they are on the web! The combinations are endless and of course I offer bundles if you would like to purchase more than once service.

On the home front “Baby Brother” still remains nameless since hubby and I hardly have a spare moment to discuss names. Bo seems to understand (as much as a 2 year old can) that Baby Brother is in mommy’s belly and that he’s coming soon. He’s growing just fine and I have another appointment next Thursday so I’ll post another update then. I still don’t look pregnant even though I’m 1/2 through month #6! I like not being “fat” but I don’t like that everyone is surprised that my due date is so close.

Bo is working very hard to potty train himself and tells me often that he needs to tee-tee in the potty. We are so proud of him! I say he’s training himself because I refuse to push him if he’s not ready and it’s working so far. He likes that his potty plays music when he “goes”.

Our first garden is doing very well and we’re starting to wonder who the heck is going to eat all those tomatoes and onions (neither of which I eat unless they are cooked in something). The carrots, potatoes, okra and corn are doing well also. We planted some blueberry bushes and we hope they will do well. We don’t expect a crop this year, but they are more of a “long-term” investment.

The chickens….all 27 of them are still doing fine. At a month old they are 1/2 grown and hopefully by the end of the week we are selling some of them as they are getting too big to keep in the “pen” we have them in. They also eat/drink too much as we have to check it twice a day - a duty that falls to me when hubby is at work - and I really was hoping for a low-maintenance batch of chickens! There’s isn’t such a thing so keep that in mind if you ever think about getting chickens.

Well that’s about all for now

Well sadly after much deliberation and stress I’ve decided that it’s time for my jewelry boutique to close, but I can’t very well shut everything down when I still have several jewelry sets just sitting here. So I’ve decided to clearance the OOAK sets I have in hopes that I can get rid of them You’ll find all the available sets by clicking here. I will also be selling some of my beads and findings in the next few weeks. I hope to make enough money back from my inventory to seriously advertise the Pixel Studio and all it’s new services (come check them out!). Even though the jewelry boutique is closing I will be throwing all my business energy into the Pixel Studio and Captive Mommies.
