on blogging that is
I’ve been swamped with customers and projects (Hallelujah!). I’m not bragging I’m just letting you all know that I haven’t dropped off the face of the planet yet. After closing down my jewelry boutique I’ve had more time to focus on graphics and web design and things are going really well. I’ve recently added eBay store fronts and blogger templates to my services. I’m excited to offer my customers a completely custom matching set of designs no matter where they are on the web! The combinations are endless and of course I offer bundles if you would like to purchase more than once service.
On the home front “Baby Brother” still remains nameless since hubby and I hardly have a spare moment to discuss names. Bo seems to understand (as much as a 2 year old can) that Baby Brother is in mommy’s belly and that he’s coming soon. He’s growing just fine and I have another appointment next Thursday so I’ll post another update then. I still don’t look pregnant even though I’m 1/2 through month #6! I like not being “fat” but I don’t like that everyone is surprised that my due date is so close.
Bo is working very hard to potty train himself and tells me often that he needs to tee-tee in the potty. We are so proud of him! I say he’s training himself because I refuse to push him if he’s not ready and it’s working so far. He likes that his potty plays music when he “goes”.
Our first garden is doing very well and we’re starting to wonder who the heck is going to eat all those tomatoes and onions (neither of which I eat unless they are cooked in something). The carrots, potatoes, okra and corn are doing well also. We planted some blueberry bushes and we hope they will do well. We don’t expect a crop this year, but they are more of a “long-term” investment.
The chickens….all 27 of them are still doing fine. At a month old they are 1/2 grown and hopefully by the end of the week we are selling some of them as they are getting too big to keep in the “pen” we have them in. They also eat/drink too much as we have to check it twice a day - a duty that falls to me when hubby is at work - and I really was hoping for a low-maintenance batch of chickens! There’s isn’t such a thing so keep that in mind if you ever think about getting chickens.
Well that’s about all for now

Well sadly after much deliberation and stress I’ve decided that it’s time for my jewelry boutique to close, but I can’t very well shut everything down when I still have several jewelry sets just sitting here. So I’ve decided to clearance the OOAK sets I have in hopes that I can get rid of them
You’ll find all the available sets by clicking here. You still get FREE shipping (US addresses only) and you still get the same great quality and service so shop with confidence!
I will also be selling some of my beads and findings in the next few weeks. I hope to make enough money back from my inventory to seriously advertise the Pixel Studio and all it’s new services (come check them out!). Even though the jewelry boutique is closing I will be throwing all my business energy into the Pixel Studio and Captive Mommies.

Today my design group, The Oasis Boutique listed a one-of-a-kind handmade boutique designer wardrobe that is for a very special cause! 100% of the final bid will be donated to the National Down Syndrome Congress. We started the listing out at $.99 with no reserve and shipping is FREE - why? We want to give back where we have been so richly blessed.
This cause is very special to TheOasis, because one of our own designers, Rhonda of Bella*Rae*Boutique, has a daughter with Down Syndrome. This beautiful little girl is very special to us, and we are so happy with the wonderful modeling job she has done for this auction. A BIG thank you to Rhonda and Miss Madison!
10 designers came together to create a unique one of a kind boutique wardrobe, made with and inspired from the Michael Miller Orchid Spa line fabrics, there are 18 OOAK pieces, made to fit a size 4/5 but may fit a range of 4T through 6.
So please stop by the listing and bid for this wonderful cause! Please click HERE or the collage above.

The blog party was so fun and the best part came in the email to got today from Darla of Beauty Inside and Out. I won the $15 gift certificate drawing she had and I got to choose from the products at her eBay store. I chose the Mary Kay Conditioning Eye Makeup Remover and I can’t wait to get it and try it out! I don’t wear a lot of makeup but when I do it’s always 80% eye makeup and 99% of the time I forget to take it off so maybe this will help me remember to remove it. Thanks again Darla!!

I was saving this giveaway until tomorrow because we were supposed to find out what the new baby is going to be, but because a recent outbreak of pink eye at my house I had to reschedule my OB/GYN appointment until next week. Since this giveaway is for those other expectant/new moms out there in blogger land I wanted to do it with my announcement, but I’ll go ahead and do it today.
Prize: Two-color breastfeeding bracelet
To win: sign a comment to this post and leave your name, how you found my blog, how far along you are or how old your infant is, boy or girl and your child’s name (or what it will be)
I will draw a winner March 15th after the blog party is over.
Be sure to visit my original post (right below this one) and sign up to win a custom designed bracelet/earring set! Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great afternoon!

Welcome fellow bloggers!!! I was so excited to find out about this blog promo and I had immediately had tons of fun ideas for my party post, so lets get started!
First, a little about me. I am a stay-at-home Mom for my 2 year old son, Bo. DH is a firefighter/EMT and we have been married for a little over five years. We make our home in GA. We are also expecting our second child (we find out boy/girl Tuesday
and he/she is due in August.
Now a little about my blog. I shamefully use this blog for business and personal announcements and fun. There is one simple reason for this - I’m too lazy to separate them. I’ve considered it many times, but the thought of loosing my readers can’t be tolerated and I barely have time to blog here!
Next, my businesses. I own two e-stores: Sara*s Jewels Boutique and Sara*s Pixel Studio. @ Sara*s Jewels you will find custom name jewelry, sibling sets, and much more! The Pixel Studio is devoted to custom created graphics, auction templates, logos, me pages, WAHMshoppes/webdesign, and my new line of printed business products (business cards, hang tags, bow cards and more!). Both businesses pretty much get equal attention here at the blog just as they do in real life because I can’t seem to give up either one. Just when I consider closing the jewelry store I get a great idea for a new design or an influx of customers and the same happens with the graphics. So I guess for now I’m “stuck” but in the best since. I love what I do and that’s what keeps me going.
Now for the FUN!! Since I’m a little late in posting for the blog party I’ve decided to have a special give-a-way. I really want to get to know some of my readers and make some new friends online so I’m going to have a special drawing. Everyone who posts a comment on this post will be entered to win a special one-of-a-kind bracelet (mom size of course) AND a matching pair of earrings that YOU design! Now there are conditions to this of course - you must put these things in your comment:
-Your name
-Your email address
-How you found my blog
So for everyone who comments and leaves that info for me will be entered to win the custom designed bracelet! I will hold the drawing on March 15th after the blog party is over. For anyone who might be interested I am also holding a drawing on March 17th for a $10 gift certificate to one of my websites (winner’s choice). To be entered in that drawing just sign up for my mailing list before March 16th (left side bar).
Please visit again as I will post something new everyday through the end of the blog party (more prizes and fun!). See you again soon!
